New Hidden Gem for Newstead locals. Located on Masters St. Beautiful spot, set with amazing light & colour combination. Comfortable seatings and whatnot. Can't believe. Seat right next to the Tractor and find a few of the most antiques from 1960's Trimp bike selections. Spot on legend - Frazer to welcome and serve you with high great energy and decades of experience into hospitality. It's just a beginning for this newbie in Newstead open from 6 AM to close. Mouth watering food by Chef Chris and whatnot. Good luck, champs.

Had our first visit to Hive today, great atmosphere and very friendly staff. Would really love to return for a few drinks and to try the Tapas menu. 4 stars for now based on the breakfast menu but may change after another visit. Breakfast 1: dippy eggs This dish is always a favourite of ours and Hive serves up a reasonably good version of it. Eggs were cooked well, bacon was charred right. The chutney was missing, perhaps they ran out? Sliced cherry tomatoes aren't chutney. We found the sour dough not cut quite right for dipping and perhaps a small spoon could be provided for digging out the last of the eggs but these are really just nitpicking. Breakfast 2: small mushroom and goats cheese omelette. Side of chorizo. Let's get my biggest gripe out of the way, $6 for half a chorizo sausage is a joke. But the rest of the omellete was very well loaded with mushroom and goats cheese. Simple fare but good flavours and not overcooked, and at $11 for a small serve it's very well priced. Will skip the platinum chorizo next time. Overall, I'd go back to try more. The Tapas menu looks good, the fella who runs the place has great energy, and the decor is interesting and inviting.

Lovely little new place in Newstead. Breakfast was great, freshly made, and yummy. I had the Carton of Eggs (poached), and the wife had the HIVE made cinnamon granola. Great way to start the day! We will have to come back for drinks some night.

Went here on a Friday night for a drink. It's a cool spot. The guy running it has great energy and makes the place feel very welcoming. Plenty of seating. Interesting decor. Cool spot. We'll go back for sure.

What an exciting new place for Newstead! My friend and I wandered in early evening and didn’t leave till late. Awesome variety of drinks, from Cocktails, wines, beers and even decent list of non alcoholic options. All reasonably priced. Wonderful shared food plates, and the best bit is the quirky vibe. Great atmosphere from bar seating, bench seats to lounges- and such beautifully attentive and engaging staff. Even had the pleasure of meeting the owner and talking about all the new ideas for upcoming plans. Great place to bring a few or bring a dozen, good eats and drinks and a great place to have a conversation. I’ll be back for sure. Venue to be seen at for sure. Lovely welcome addition to the neighbourhood.

Convenient for grabbing an early morning coffee when walking the dog. The food I have tried has been fresh and delicious! Great environmental friendly bowls/plates. Bar opens at 10am, great for a Sunday brekkie or brunch.

Walked past Hive and was invited in by the manager who was really friendly and very welcoming. We didn't eat here as we had plans, but the atmosphere was great and the service was perfect. Grabbed a couple of drinks, which were nice and strong, and we sat around and felt relaxed. This place would be perfect for any event, from cute dates through to group events. We were really impressed with how nice of a spot this was. We will definitely be back with more time. Give this place a go!
